Love Your Workplace: Prepare Your Workforce for a Cardiac Emergency

Most U.S. employees are not prepared for cardiac emergencies at work, according to surveys of employees and workplace safety managers. With 10,000 cardiac arrests annually in the workplace, and one-third of managers reporting lives have been saved with training, the American Heart Association launched a campaign advocating for workplace First Aid, CPR, AED training and public access to AEDs.

It was a typical day at home for Shelby Baker, a Heartsaver Hero from Downs, Illinois, who saved her Dad with CPR when he collapsed at home.
